Biola Day 2

Alright Day 4 of our trip, Day 2 at Biola. Lots of fun today, we had a great morning session with a time of worship and a setup teaching for our quiet times and small groups. After small groups it was off to lunch and a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace (High school version) seminar led by Dave Ramsey's daughter. After the seminar was free time groups played ninja, volleyball, tennis, frisbee, hung out, wandered around, and generally had a great time. Dinner followed by tonights evening session was great. Awesome worship, teaching, youth group time, and games to end our evening. Now it's time for bed so we can do it all over again tomorrow.
Just a run down of what we're learning. We're studying 1 and 2 Timothy, the topic for yesterday was grace, and the topic today was truth, and Jesus Christ being our truth. What do we do with that fact that Jesus is truth and how do we filter everything else about our lives through Jesus. Many of the kids mentioned worship tonight, small groups this morning, and even the message tonight as their favorite part of today when we shared at Youth Group time.

We're also being challenged. Move loves to take high school students, move them, and transform them into kingdom workers, not just for this week but for weeks, months, and even years to come. Tonight the challenge was to think of someone you know that doesn't know Jesus (truth) and make a committment to get in the ring and fight for them to know Jesus. In other words get together and have conversations that move them toward Jesus. Those people are worth fighting for and we need to fight for them to know Jesus.
I think that's about it for now.

We love and miss you all, hope you're having as much fun as we are.

Camp Day 1 and 2

We're here in SoCal. After a long bus ride, with not much sleep we finally made it to California for our conference. We got in about 11:00am and and were back on a bus for the beach at Noon. It was a little overcast at the beach but there was enough sun for some of us to get a little bit sunburned. We spent tons of time in the water and shopping and at the snack bar. We got to bed early because we were exhausted from the day at the beach and not much sleep on the bus the night before. It was up early at 7:00 so that we could get to Compton for our work day. We split the group in two 11 people went to the warehouse to help organize for a 1600 person work day they have coming up on Saturday. They mixed paint, organized supplies, and counted and bundled so many supplies, they worked really hard and had a great time and really felt like the work they did today was that first drop in a puddle that has a huge ripple effect. (The camera got left on the bus so no pictures :( ) Everyone else went to a house in Compton, it was about 6 houses down from where we worked last year. It was great to see how far Compton City Church (the new church plant) and especially Pat and Julie Dirkses house have come in the last year. So we had tons of scraping and weed removal in the yard of this other house. We spent all day there and got a lot done. We checked in at Biola and had a great night with worship, teaching and then our youth group time after which we played "shoe game." It's late and I'm tired so that's it for now.

Hope everything is good at home, we're having an amazing time here.

Welcome Back

Hey Hope you guys had a great fall break. I know for me I had a great time. I went to California for a few days, spent a day hanging out with some of you at the World Vision Warehouse, and got to be snowed in for a few days. What a bummer, snow days during fall break. It's just not fair. Anyway, we are back to it now at THE WELL we're still talking about 40 days of community and how we're better together than we are apart. Come tonight for a great night of worship and being together with Christian friends. Just a couple things for you to remember

1. Bring coats for our coat drive.
2. Bring offering money for our Compassion Child
3. Bring money for the snack bar.
4. Don't forget you can still buy an "I like church" t-shirt.

See you all tonight.

Shave The Head

So if 170 kids show up to THE WELL tomorrow night I (Kendal) have agreed to shave male pattern baldness into my head and wear it that way for a week. I'm really hoping to be sporting this awesome hairstyle for the next week, so make it happen. Bring your friends, your friends friends, and anyone else you can convince to get here. I need a creative hair cut.
